About Practical Educator Coaching

Every teacher feels lost sometimes.

As your coach, I'll help you find your way.

What is an educator coach?
Teaching can feel isolating, especially for new educators adjusting to both a demanding profession and an unfamiliar school culture. Imagine having a consistent, experienced mentor who shows up for you every week—not to evaluate, but to listen, support, and problem-solve alongside you. As an educator coach, I meet weekly with clients to offer whatever support makes the most sense for them. That might mean co-planning lessons, helping navigate the complexities of school systems, talking through tough classroom moments, providing instructional strategies, or even just creating accountability to knock out some grading. My role is flexible, grounded, and personal—designed to meet the individual needs of each teacher I work with.

Why hire an educator coach?
Teaching is one of the most challenging jobs in the world—a roller coaster of joy, stress, and relentless demands. Burnout is common. Having an experienced educator coach in your corner can make a meaningful difference to your mental health and professional success.Even if your school has a mentor program or instructional coach, there’s value in working with someone outside your building. I offer a confidential, consistent space to have meaningful conversations about your teaching practice—free from school politics or evaluation pressure.

Who do I work with?
I specialize in working with secondary educators, especially those in their first five years. That said, I’m always happy to connect with teachers at any stage who are looking for support.

Why work with me, specifically?
I’m a veteran high school social studies teacher, university professor, and teacher leader. I’ve coached and developed new teachers, guided students of all backgrounds, and led professional learning that’s both practical and reflective.I believe that good teaching is both an art and a craft. I help teachers become more confident, authentic, and connected to their students—while keeping their own well-being in mind.Whether you’re struggling with lesson design, classroom management, student motivation, or just staying motivated yourself, I offer grounded, honest support to help you grow and persist in this incredible (but incredibly tough) profession.
